Senior Boys Volleyball

The 2019 Senior Boys’ Volleyball team began with little success in September and October. The boys rallied and changed their mindset during the Christian High tournament and were consolidation champs in the OCSSAA tournament. With the fire of their wins at the OCSSAA tournament, the boys went on to become TVRA and WOSSAA champions! The team then travelled to OFSAA in Chatham were they were defeated in the OFSAA consolation semi-final. This is the first time in eight years that the senior team made it to OFSAA. I am very proud of the effort shown by the team this season, and hope the success of this year carries forward to our 2020 team. ~ Matt Rock, Coach & Teacher

Junior Girls Volleyball

The Junior Girls Volleyball Team had a great season. The girls were strong from the start which allowed them to work on strategies and game play. Their attitude was fantastic! All students were very flexible with where they were played and never complained. They were also very coachable athletic players. The great leadership shown by the grade 10 students built a positive team culture.

There were a few surprising victories over other strong teams.  They were TVRAA winners for their division and they won Bronze in WOSSAA! Great job ladies! – Phil Hosmar, Coach & Teacher

Senior Girls Volleyball

The Senior Girls volleyball team had a good season. There were some ups and downs, but overall it was a lot of fun and we saw some success. They were a joy to coach and committed to the volleyball program. The referees often commented on how nice all the girls were, how they encouraged each other and displayed great team work.

They won silver at an invitational tournament, ended up third out of 18 teams at OCSSAA, made it to the city finals but lost to a strong team from ESMB.

Thank you to all the girls for their hard work and commitment over the season, thanks to the eight graduating players.. you all will be missed! Thanks to parents, other coaches and staff members from LCH for supporting us throughout the season. – Amanda Beerda, Coach & Educational Assistant
