The Student Support Services team at London Christian High is dedicated to serving all students through pathways planning, providing academic support for various learning styles and needs, and addressing emotional and mental wellness.
We encourage our students to use their gifts and abilities in service to God and to seek advice and assistance with relationships when needed. We seek to make high school education a good experience that is appropriate for each student.
London Christian High recognizes that students are children of God, created in His image with unique gifts and personalities that need to be discovered and affirmed. We encourage our students to use their gifts and abilities in service to God and to seek advice and assistance with relationships when needed. We seek to make high school education a good experience that is appropriate for each student.
Jacky Dieleman is our guidance counselor who works with all students in grades 9 through 12 to help them formulate their path through the early years of high school and plan for their post-secondary education and career goals. The guidance department assists our students in the following areas:
- Transitioning from elementary school, both academically and socially.
- Determining whether to take courses in the academic or the applied pathway according to perceived post-secondary plans.
- Identifying and addressing special learning support needs for individual students.
- Preparing for tests and exams, time management, use of agendas, and other skills that will help students in their high school years.
- Post-secondary applications, scholarship applications, level changes, receiving the required number of credits, academic recommendations, references, and community service hours.
Beyond high school, our students have a diverse range of destinations including work, apprenticeships and internships, co-op placements, college and university, or alternative gap year plans working or serving with missions organizations.
