Amanda Beerda

Amanda Beerda is an educational assistant and has been working at LCH since 2013. She also coaches the Sr girls volleyball team and Girls Soccer team. She graduated from Redeemer University with a B.A in Physical Education and a minor in Psychology. Since athletics is one of Amanda’s passions, many of her favourite memories at LCH have to do with different teams or players that she has coached over the years. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys playing sports, being outside and spending time with family and friends.

Danielle Bird

Danielle Bird joined the London Christian High staff team in 2020. She teaches English, Learning Strategies, English as a Second Language, and Drama. Danielle earned her BA in history as well as her Bachelor of Education from Western University. She previously taught grades 7 and 8 at London Christian Academy where she also directed their school musicals and coached basketball and volleyball. Additionally, Danielle had the privilege of teaching high school social studies at the International Christian School of Budapest for one year. Her “sweet spot” is her involvement in school drama productions; she loves watching her students develop their gifts and embrace an appreciation of theatre. Danielle looks forward to working with LCH students as they explore their passions, develop their gifts, and grow in their faith journeys!

Corrina Cameron

Corrina Cameron has an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from York University, a Bachelor of Education from Western University, and an Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) Certificate of Accreditation and Professional Designation from Fanshawe College. Corrina is a passionate teacher with a desire to make learning deep and meaningful for her students. At London Christian High, she currently teaches grades 11 and 12 Art and is also the Marketing Coordinator. Outside of school, Corrina is a practicing artist and is a member of the London Potters Guild. With her husband Dave, she enjoys hiking, gardening, exploring Ontario, and capturing thunderstorms on camera for her paintings.

Jacky Dieleman

Jacky Dieleman is the Vice Principal at London Christian High. She is in her third career here at London Christian High, first working for Wendy’s Restaurants of Canada for 5 years and then as a stay-at-home mom for 10. Jacky and her family also farm in Middlesex County. She holds a B.Comm and Master of Management Studies from University of Guelph, and a Bachelor of Education from Western University. Jacky has taught a wide variety of courses in her time here: English, Math, World Religions, Marketing, Parenting, Food & Nutrition, Food & Culture, Learning Strategies, and the Literacy Course. These days, she spends her time doing program, guidance, and student life work in her VP role. She is a strong advocate for developing young leaders.

Bev Faber

Bev Faber teaches grades 9-12 French at London Christian High. She received her Honours B.A. from Redeemer University and her teaching degree through Calvin University. She studied abroad at the Sorbonne University in Paris for one semester where she had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout France. She was herself a student at LCH, and began working on yearbook during her high school years. Since becoming a teacher here, she has been the staff advisor for the yearbook. One of her favourite memories as a teacher at LCH was organizing a café experience for families and watching her students perform comedic skits about a restaurant outing to an authentic audience! Bev enjoys digital scrapbooking, gardening and watching her boys participate in sports events!

Josh Gerbrandt

Josh Gerbrandt joined our staff team in 2022 to teach our music classes and lead our choir, praise team, and band programs.  He completed his Bachelor of Music Education degree and subsequent Bachelor of Education degree at Western University.  Josh has also been developing and promoting music technology programs, with a focus on creating a variety of music in a recording studio-style environment. Josh, his wife, Christina, and their three children live just outside of London. Josh is excited to bring his career back to a Christian environment after spending 15 years in the TDSB and looks forward to growing the music program at LCH.

Dave Grasman

Dave Grasman works in the Finance Department at London Christian High. Dave received his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and then went on to get his professional accounting designation. Dave has worked in the private sector for Sobeys and in the public sector for the City of Kitchener prior to working at London Christian High. When not at work, Dave can be found helping out with various programs at his church, spending time with his family, working on a variety of projects around the house and cheering on his favourite sports teams.

Aaron Hesman

Aaron Hesman joined the London Christian High staff team in 2020. He currently teaches a variety of science and business courses. Aaron received his B.Sc. from Redeemer University and his B.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick. Outside of teaching, he enjoys playing and coaching many different sports and spending time outside in God’s creation.

Ron Hesman

Ron Hesman joined the London Christian High staff team in the fall of 2020. He currently teaches Grade 9 Math and Physical Education. Ron has been involved in Christian education for 33 years and joined LCH part-time following his retirement from his 20-year position as Principal at London Christian Academy. Ron coaches junior boys basketball at LCH and is a co-director for the LCH summer basketball camp. He attends West London Alliance Church and enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family, and an active lifestyle, including biking, basketball, skiing, and golf.

Gabriella Hoogstra

Gabriella Hoogstra is the principal at London Christian High. Gabriella joined our staff team in 2016 as a vice principal and became principal in 2023. Prior to joining LCH, Gabriella was an advocate in the Violence Against Women sector for many years, working with women and children experiencing the impacts of abuse and violence. She earned both her Bachelor of Social Work degree and Master of Education degree from Calvin University. Gabriella currently serves on the Christian Schools Canada Board and on the Board of the Christian School Foundation. Always up for an adventure, Gabriella enjoys spending time with her family, reading, travelling, hiking, and dreaming of a more loving and compassionate world.

Carla Hosmar

Carla Hosmar is the Learning Commons Lead at LCH supporting EAs and students in the classroom and the Learning Commons. She has worked in various capacities over her career to-date including; Child and Youth Worker in a high school setting in Hamilton serving hard-to-serve students, Case Manager for a Women’s shelter (Martha House/Mary’s Place) for abused and/or homeless women and children, Case Manager for Canadian Mental Health Association, Co-director for a women’s transitional home in Bradford, and Educational Assistant for a student at Clarke Road Secondary School. Her training comes from Redeemer University and Mohawk College for Child and Youth Worker as well as several courses while employed (CBT, Autism courses etc.), and she is presently working toward her Bachelor of Professional Arts Major in Human Services through Athabasca University. Carla enjoys supporting students on the LCH swim team as the staff rep. A favourite memory at LCH is going on the New York and Toronto choir trip as a staff chaperone as well as starting up the Mental Health Advisory with students. Fun fact: Carla is a twin.

Phil Hosmar

Phil Hosmar joined the London Christian High staff team in 2018. He currently teaches Grade 9 Integrated Technology, Grade 9 Science, Grade 10 Bible, Grade 11 World Religions, and Grade 11/12 Families in Canada. Phil earned his B.A. in Psychology and Sociology as well as his B.C.Ed. and Christian School Teacher’s Certificate from Redeemer University. He also earned a Graduate Diploma in Education and Technology from Ontario Tech University. Outside of school, Phil loves watching soccer – especially Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League and the Toronto Football Club in Major League Soccer. Music is also a big part of who Phil is and how he sees the world. Additionally, he loves being outside, playing soccer, camping, spending time with his family, and going to the beach with his wife to relax and take in the beauty of God’s world.

Sinae Kim

Sinae Kim joined the London Christian High staff team as an educational assistant in the fall of 2021 and took on the additional role of Homestay Coordinator in the winter of 2022. Sinae earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western University. Outside of LCH, Sinae serves as a leader for the English ministry youth group in her church. In her free time, she loves to travel, hike, and spend time with her family.

John Lise

John Lise teaches both Physical Education and English at LCH. He has been involved in coaching both basketball and soccer, and a few other sports on occasion. He completed a double major B.A. in Physical Education and English with an additional Psychology minor at Redeemer University. He completed his teaching degree at Althouse College on the campus of Western University. He also played 4 years of basketball at Redeemer University. John is passionate about developing students’ physical and social skills through sport and active interaction. When he isn’t teaching or coaching, he can be seen in the gym in the mornings before school and at lunch times playing basketball or hockey with groups of students.

Laura Miedema

Laura Miedema teaches in the Canadian and World Studies and the Social Sciences and Humanities departments. She completed an Honour’s Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s University in Sociology, History, and Geography. In addition to this, she completed her teaching degree at Western University and her Christian School Teacher’s Certificate through Redeemer University and the Institute for Christian Studies. She is passionate about learning and has continued to take many courses since graduating. Laura loves researching her own family’s past, and just one of many awesome memories from her time teaching at LCH was leading a trip of students to the Canadian Battlefields in Europe and getting to visit the gravesite of her great uncle that died fighting at Vimy Ridge. She has loved being involved in coaching Senior Girls’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer over the years. When Laura is not doing school work, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing sports, reading a good book or hiking and travelling through God’s good Creation.

Julia Morton

Julia Morton joined the LCH staff team in the summer of 2021. She is a graduate of Redeemer University where she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Theatre Major, English, and History Minor) and Bachelor of Education. Julia currently teaches our Food and Culture course as well as Grade 12 World History Since the Fifteenth Century. Julia loves being a creative person through many outlets, whether it be theatre and costume, baking and cooking, or writing poems and stories. She has a strong sense of stewardship for the earth and makes sustainable choices in her own life as she works towards being carbon neutral, and sources food locally. Julia has a deep interest in history and is working on researching her own family tree to discover when her ancestors came to Canada.

Richard Oosterloo

You will find Mr. Oosterloo (Mr. O) in the science, biology, and chemistry classrooms. He is the senior chemistry and biology teacher at London Christian High and also helps out with coaching soccer. Richard has completed a major in B.Sc Environmental Science as well as minors in both Biology and Chemistry at Redeemer University. He also attended Redeemer University for his teaching degree. Richard began his teaching career here at London Christian High in September of 2016. One of his favourite teaching moments was wading through the Thames River with his grade 11 Biology class searching for macroinvertebrates. Good times! Richard loves spending his free time running, reading, playing soccer, as well as playing both board and videogames.

Aerin Park

Aerin Park joined the LCH staff team in the fall of 2020 as an Educational Assistant. She is a graduate of Western University with a Bachelor of Sciences and a Bachelor of Education. Aerin serves on the leadership team for the English Ministry as well as the Youth ministry within her church, London First Korean Presbyterian Church.

Marlene Regnerus

Marlene Regnerus is a graduate of Redeemer University and Calvin University; she has continued to pursue graduate level learning experiences at a variety of institutions including Regent College in Vancouver BC, and London’s Western University Faculty of Education. She currently fills the roles of Curriculum Specialist, Instructional Learning Coach, and teacher, mainly in English, and World Religions. Marlene has a passion for reading—basically any fiction or non-fiction that is recommended, loves to learn, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Matt Rock

Matt Rock teaches Construction Technology and coaches Senior Boys Volleyball. Matt is also involved in the design and construction of the school set. He completed an undergraduate degree in Religious Education from Heritage College and is also a Red Seal Certified Carpenter. Matt graduated with his teaching certification from the University of Windsor in 2014. Prior to becoming a teacher, Matt built and finished log homes, was a site supervisor and owned his own custom woodworking business. Matt is passionate about woodworking and seeks to help each student discover his or her inner artist.

Sarah Seitz

Sarah Seitz joined the London Christian High staff team in 2018 as an EA. She graduated on the Dean’s Honour list from the Child and Youth Worker program at Fanshawe College. Sarah previously worked as a site supervisor for the YMCA of Western Ontario as well as in a group home for at-risk youth in Norfolk County. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and participating in local community activities with her family.

Marg Speerstra

Marg Speerstra is our International Student Coordinator and also steps in to support LCH Administration when needed. She first joined our staff team in 2019. Marg received her diploma from Fanshawe College focusing on accounting and office administration. She has extensive experience in various educational environments ranging from Elementary to University Administration.

Mark Sumner

Mark Sumner is our IT Administrator and resident tech expert. He also teaches Grade 9 Exploring Technologies, Grade 11 Communication Technology, Grades 11 & 12 Computer Science, and Grade 11 Chemistry. If he is not working on technology or blowing something up in the science lab, you’re likely to find him hiking or biking with his beautiful family, his wife Natasha and their three boys. Mark has his Honours B.Sc. from Western University in Computer Science with Software Engineering Specialization and General Sciences. He loves to dabble where two fields of study overlap, having spent some time developing software for the Biochemistry department at Western and researching DNA computing. Every spring, Mark also looks forward to leading a group of students overseeing lighting for the drama production at LCH.

Vicki VandenBrink

Vicki VandenBrink joined the London Christian High staff team in 2020 as our Office Administrator. She has 20 years experience in Customer Service and Project Management and a deep passion for details! She has been expanding her role at LCH to include Transportation along with supporting roles in Communication and Admissions. After school Vicki spends most of her time travelling to hockey games, but enjoys quiet time doing puzzles or watching non-fiction documentaries.

Steven Van Meekeren

You can usually find Steven Van Meekeren early before school starts or in the evening cleaning up or fixing something. On occasion he has been caught cheering for the London High school teams, helping with class trips and setting up for a meetings. He has been roaming the halls, broom in hand since 2013. He enjoys hiking and gardening in his free time.

Sarah Waeijen

We welcome Sarah Waeijen to our staff team for the 2021-2022 school year! Sarah is from the London area and serves as our Food Services Coordinator. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, exploring nature with her family, reading, and playing the piano.

Ena Weverink

Ena Weverink joined the London Christian High staff team in 2002 and currently teaches grades 10 and 11 English. She received her B.A. in Secondary Education (English/Communications) from Dordt College. For 17 years, Ena has been one of the school’s yearbook advisors and enjoys taking pictures of students and events throughout the school year. Her passions include reading, cooking, and spending time with her five small grandchildren. If you look carefully, you might find her picture on one of the “Graduates” plaques hanging in the halls of the school.

Mary Jane Zubick

Mary Jane Zubick is a part-time EA and an alumni of London Christian High. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Calvin University in 2003, and spent many years as a Social worker for the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex and as a School Support Counselor for the Thames Valley District School Board. Ms. Zubick joined the LCH staff team in 2017; one of her favourite things about working at LCH is the fresh, hot coffee and friendly coworkers that greet her every morning in the staff room. She loves to swim and knee board, and bakes up a mean batch of Ollieballen every New Year’s Eve.
