Absence Reporting
Any student absences should be reported to the school prior to 8:30am on school days. If the student is absent without notification, a phone call home will be made. Absences can be reported in several ways:

Bus Cancellations and School Closure
To communicate bus cancellations and/or school closures due to inclement weather, our first mode of communication is posting in your bus group in Edsby. Instructions will be sent home via our NEXT newsletter describing how to best set up notifications in Edsby so that you don’t miss these important announcments.
Please also check Edsby and your school email on days the school is closed for any special instructions regarding activities and school work that should be done at home.

Next @ LCH
The Next @ LCH is our primary weekly email newsletter to parents, guardians, and homestay parents of London Christian High students. In the Next @ LCH you’ll find up-to-date information on upcoming school and student events, school life updates, reminders about services available at the school and a glimpse into student learning and student life. The Next @ LCH is structured to be the go-to communication to keep parents informed about what’s going on at London Christian High.

Daily Announcements
Daily announcements are provided daily to the students in their homeroom class and inform students of the day’s happenings at school. Announcements are read at the beginning of period one and are posted on Edsby (also available through the Edsby app). If students have an announcement to share with the student body, they must submit their announcements to a supervising staff member by 8:30am.
Edsby
Edsby is the on-line classroom communication platform used by London Christian High. Through Edsby, parents and guardians can see what is happening in their student’s classes, what homework and projects have been assigned, when tests are scheduled, grades and attendance data, as well as sports teams’ schedules and other activities that your students may be involved in. Edsby is also a great way to communicate with your student’s teachers. For a tutorial on how to use Edsby, click this helpful link (you can also find it by clicking on the Help link when you are logged into Edsby).
Prior to the beginning of the school year, or upon enrolment for students starting at different points in the school year, parents will receive an invitation from Edsby by email. Please follow the instructions in that email to set up your account and add your child(ren). If you did not receive an invitation or need any assistance, please contact Mr. Mark Sumner (msumner@lchonline.ca).
