The purpose of London Christian High’s arts programs is to develop students’ sensitivity and creativity in drama, music, and visual art.
We believe God is the creator of all that exists, and His creation reveals His love of variety, intricacy, harmony, and beauty. As God’s image bearers, we are blessed with both the sensitivity to delight in this beauty and the gift of participating in creativity.
Our drama students work as both actors and production crew members on plays both classic and modern, our music students have the opportunity to sing, play instruments, and participate in the process of musical creation to express specific emotions, and our visual art students create a variety of work from intricate graphite drawings and colourful paintings to conceptual screen prints, calligraphy, and ceramics produced both on and off the pottery wheel.
Student work created through the arts program at London Christian High is featured twice a year at our Celebration of Learning events. Through the arts, students also develop a sense of how art is powerfully used for social justice and a sense of awareness of how artistic expression brings honour and praise to their Creator.
