The Technology Education Building and Program Expansion Project

To better serve our students who have an interest in technology and the trades, we have introduced several new programs over the last several years, courses that offer practical, hands-on learning experiences for our students to try things like welding, mechanical technologies, and vehicle maintenance.

Supporting these exciting new programs – and the ones we are planning to add in the years to come – requires dedicated learning spaces. To meet that demand, we are building an additional 10,000 square feet of shops, classrooms and design studios that will transform our students’ learning experience.

The Opportunity

Career & Technical Education Pathways

Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathways requires specialized learning spaces. LCH already has a well-used shop for construction and woodworking. And as we have expanded our program, we have been blessed by off-site partnerships that provide the hands-on experiences that are essential to technology and trades education. But our goal is to provide our students the space and tools they need right here at the school. To meet that need, we are planning to build a 10,000-square-foot technology wing beside the construction shop at the back of the school.

The Vision

Additional Facilities

We have identified several new spaces that will be necessary to meet the needs of these programs. This Technology Education Building & Program Expansion includes:

  • A Transportation Technologies shop for students to expand their knowledge about how to take care of their own vehicles.

  • A Machining and Manufacturing shop that will include space for welding machines, lathes, CNC and other equipment for students interested in learning how to manipulate and form metal and metal products.

  • Adding Plumbing and Electrical pods to the existing Construction Technologies shop for students who wish to elevate their learning in senior-level construction technology courses.

  • Designing a Flexible Classroom Space for labs and seminar classes in the CTE program. This flex space will benefit students engaged in courses in  Health Care, Agriculture & Trades, Business, and Social Sciences.

  • An Expanded Greenhouse for students  o learn techniques in planting, cultivating and harvesting plants and flowers, while learning about opportunities in horticulture and agriculture.

  • A Design Studio for students to use specialized design software and tools to develop the plans that will bring their ideas to life.

The Invitation

The Innovation and Technology Campaign

This is an exciting and ambitious plan, one that will have an enormous impact on our students.

We invite you to join us in creating more and more opportunities to impact the lives of more and more students.

To support the project, we have launched the Innovation and Technology Campaign. We expect the total project cost will be approximately $5,500,000. This includes the design and build of the new space, equipping the new shops and classrooms, and providing for the first two years of supplies and materials. Even before launching the Campaign broadly, we have secured more than $2,600,000 in gifts and pledges.

We thank God for the visionary and generous supporters who have allowed us to get such a great start!

We are expecting the Campaign to last up to three years, but this is a giving-driven project – we’ll move as fast as God moves people to give.

Join us in supporting the expansion of our technology education facilities. There are several ways you can make an immediate gift or a multi-year pledge. Follow the link below to see the ways you can make a gift, either immediately or through a multi-year pledge.

The Progress

The Innovation and Technology Campaign began in March 2025 and has a total goal of $5,500,000.

Thank You

Thank you for making an impact in the lives of our students. Together, we will provide the resources needed to expand the learning opportunities we offer students as they prepare for work or further studies, and expand the reach of LCH to those who otherwise may not consider LCH. We seek to give God glory in all things.
